Strategic Leadership and Learning

Eren works for S360 on sustainability strategy, stakeholder engagement, as well as strategic sustainability modeling including the business case for sustainability. He has strong knowledge on scientific foundations of sustainability, framework for strategic sustainable development, organizational learning, and corporate sustainability. After graduating from Environmental Engineering Department at Middle East Technical University (METU), he had worked for Regional Environmental Center (REC) Turkey Office between 2009 and 2013. The main areas of his work are Education for Sustainable Development, Local Environmental Action Plans and Sustainable Cities, Climate Change, and Regulatory Impact Assessment. He had been involved in civil society work in the field of youth and he had taken place at METU Rowing Team as captain, assistant coach, and head coach between 1998 and 2011.
In 2012, he has finished his MSc. degree on Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability at Blekinge Institute of Technology, Sweden. He is currently carrying out his PhD research at Institute for Leadership and Sustainability at University of Cumbria in the UK. His research topic is “Organizations as living complex systems: daily business practices inspired by natural processes and flows”. Some of the areas he is interested in are; change facilitation, learning organizations, transformational leadership, chaordic design principles, non-linear systems, developing intrinsic motivations towards sustainability, systems thinking, political ecology, and etc.
