Dave Knight

Dave has spent over 18 years working internationally, across multiple industries at the interface of business and society. An entrepreneur, Dave is a founder of a number of successful companies including Sd3 Ltd, Two Tomorrows and One Planet Limited. He has also worked within a large certification body, including headed up DNV GL's USA & Canada Sustainability practice. He holds an MSc (distinction) in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London and is a Lead Certified Sustainability Assurance Practitioner.
His experience includes: innovative assessment and assurance; the development of corporate sustainability strategies; linking science to practice; human and children's right's due diligence; training; stakeholder engagement, communication and reporting.
Recent project work includes; development of sustainability strategy for food ingredients company, leading a risk assessment of children's rights within the telecommunications distribution chain, developing responsible sourcing frameworks, leading environmental and social compliance auditing in the ICT sector and helping draft and contribute to various reports for UNEP. He contributed to the World Business Council for Sustainable Development Action 2020 plans, the recent International Integrated Reporting Council assurance white paper and a review of the UN Global Compact in its 15th anniversary year, 2015.
Dave writes, presents, trains and advises on principles-based sustainable business approaches and is a member of the UNICEF CSR advisory group. He has designed and delivered training programmes in Europe, Asia and the US and has spoken at many conferences and events. He drafted the summary of 'The Business Case for the Green Economy' for UNEP which was launched at Rio+20.
